Authorship in Scientific Works: Key Principles and Responsibilities
An author of a scientific article is a researcher who has made a significant intellectual contribution to the creation of the work. This includes:
-
Theoretical development, systemic or experimental design: Forming the research concept and planning its execution.
-
Prototype development, data analysis, and interpretation: Practical implementation of the idea and understanding the results obtained.
-
Creation and analysis of article content: Direct participation in writing and editing the text.
-
Approval of the final version: Confirming the article's readiness for publication, including checking references.
Rules for Collective Authorship
If several authors have worked on a paper, they independently determine the order of their mention in the article. It's generally recommended to list names according to each individual's contribution to the research.
Important: Only those who have directly participated in the research and writing of the article, and are prepared to bear full responsibility for its content, can be included in the list of authors. Research funding or payment for publication does not constitute grounds for inclusion as a co-author.
Limitation on the Number of Authors
The editorial board advises limiting the number of co-authors to three people per work. If there are four or more authors, a detailed justification of each participant's personal contribution must be provided.
Agreement on Regulation of Relations Among Co-authors
All co-authors are obliged to conclude an Agreement on Regulation of Relations. This document defines the mutual rights and obligations of each author regarding the submitted scientific work, ensuring a clear understanding of the distribution of responsibility and rights to the research outcome.
Consent to Personal Data Processing
At the secondary stage, after the editorial board makes a positive decision regarding the publication of materials in the journal, authors provide official consent to the processing of the following personal data:
- Full name
- Academic degree, academic title
- Information about the author's affiliated organization (position, department, institution)
