Insurance of downtime's risk of vehicles at the port's container terminal

Abstract

In the article, the method is proposed for a risk of vehicles demurrage assessment at the port's container terminal. Containers arrive at terminal by single containership and are removed from warehouse by several trucks. Time intervals between neighboring moments of containership arrivals and between a truck arrivals are mutually independent random variables with exponential distribution. Method is based on description of port's terminal as a queueing system of special type. For determination of stationary state-probabilities the system of algebraic equations is derived and method for its solving is done. It is shown how to express through these state-probabilities the main indices of service performance. With the help of probabilistic distribution of number of trucks under demurrage the criterion of insurance of these risk expediency is formulated.
