New Academic Integrity Standards and AI Disclosure Policy in Journal "Skhid"
The Editorial Board of Journal "Skhid" is committed to continuously improving the ethical standards of scientific publications. In compliance with the Law of Ukraine "On Academic Integrity" and to ensure maximum transparency in scientific research, we are introducing new mandatory rules for declaring the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
What is changing?Starting from Issue No. 2 (2026), authors are required to disclose the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) tools at all stages of manuscript preparation.
How does it work?To standardize this process, Journal "Skhid" adopts the GAIDeT (Generative AI Delegation Taxonomy) — an international framework that helps clearly distinguish between tasks delegated to AI and the intellectual contribution of human researchers.
Step-by-step instructions for authors:
-
Notification: Officially state the use of GAI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) in the cover letter to the Editorial Board.
-
Generation of Declaration: Use the online GAIDeT Declaration Generator. Select the language, specify the tool version, and select the list of delegated tasks (e.g., linguistic correction, literature search, etc.).
-
Placement in the Manuscript: Copy the generated text into your manuscript immediately before the "References" section.
-
Authorship: AI tools are not subjects of copyright. They cannot be listed as authors or co-authors.
-
Accountability: Full responsibility for data accuracy, objectivity of conclusions, and the absence of plagiarism lies exclusively with the human authors.
-
Prohibitions: It is strictly prohibited to use AI for generating the primary text of the article without significant authorial revision, creating original scientific results, or statistical modeling presented as original work.
-
Option A (if AI was used): "The authors of this manuscript hereby acknowledge the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools during the preparation of this work. In accordance with the Generative AI Delegation Taxonomy, the tasks of proofreading, editing, and translation were delegated under full human supervision. For these purposes, ChatGPT-5 (OpenAI, June 2025 version) was utilized. All outputs generated by this tool were thoroughly reviewed, edited, and approved by the authors, who bear full responsibility for the content and conclusions of the publication. Generative AI tools are not listed as authors and bear no responsibility for the final results. This declaration does not apply to the use of basic tools for grammar, spelling, or citation formatting."
-
Option B (if AI was NOT used): "The authors of this manuscript hereby certify that no generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools or services were used during the research or preparation of this manuscript to perform any of the tasks listed in the Generative AI Delegation Taxonomy. All stages of the work — from conceptualization to final editing — were performed exclusively by the authors without the involvement of generative AI."
We are confident that the implementation of the GAIDeT taxonomy will strengthen trust in scientific outcomes and help our authors meet the highest global standards of academic ethics.
Sincerely,
The Editorial Board of Journal "Skhid"
