Article researches the correlation of loneliness problem and suicide. On the basis of philosophical and sociological views of Emile Durkheim it was found that one of the main causes of suicide acts is state of loneliness, which is caused by human's alienation from society. According to scientist, the human "I" consists of two components: physical and social, which basic needs are realization of physiological and communication needs, accordingly. Without communication, emotional unity with society arises loneliness, a psychological crisis, the loss of the sense of life that encourages the individual to suicide.
N. Berdyaev proved that suicide is characterized by egocentrism and renunciation of three Christian values: faith, hope, love. Alienation from the social processes entails loneliness and existential vacuum that leads to suicide. Belief in God, finding the meaning of life and love to it rescues man from loneliness and suicide.
E. Fromm revealed that suicide is an extreme way to fight loneliness, which he described as "pathologically perverted." No sense of unity with the environment causes the state of loneliness. It's found that submission to society and, on the contrary, the power over it - are the wrong ways to strengthen the sense of unity with the world. Only love to society causes harmony with it, saves us from loneliness and suicide. It's proved that not a material but psychological problems are the root cause of suicide.
